Reunion Reflections of the
2008 Western Chapter Reunion in Phoenix

The 2008 reunion was an outstanding success. Fifty four registrations were received, with attendees coming from eleven states and two Canadian provinces. Only seventeen veterans were present, the balance being spouses, sons, daughters, nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

Perhaps the most significant item discussed was the decision to have the web site (10tharmored.com) under the direction of Craig Charlton replace the “Western Tiger Tales” newsletter. Material sent to the web site will be accumulated and sent to all dues paying members twice each year. Bob Anderson, former editor of the news letter, was thanked for his excellent work.

Next year’s reunion will be held at the same location, the Clarion Hotel Phoenix Tech Center, on Apr 30 & May 1-2, 2009.

Officers for the 2008-2009 year will be Wayne Wickert, President and Tom Rettenbacher, Vice President. Phil Burge will continue as Secretary-Treasurer and Dick Francis and Jack Bortz will continue as Chaplain and Sergeant-at-Arms, respectively.

Craig Charlton was the recipient of the Jim Flood award, in recognition of his excellent work in developing and maintaining the Chapter’s web site.

Jim Evanoff, manager of the Clarion Hotel, was an honored guest at the banquet on Saturday night. This was in recognition of the flawless service that we receive and the highly competitive rates that are charged for the hotel’s facilities.

Rates will be unchanged for the 2009 reunion, so start making your plans now to attend.
